Aspen Vets is a busy, modern and well equipped first opinion practice. Our team are well trained, well motivated and hard working. If we have a current vacancy then you will see this listed below. If not, and you think you can add something to our practice, please contact us anyway. We very much want to hear from you.

If you are interested in a career as a Veterinary Surgeon or a Veterinary Nurse and are looking for some advice, please visit the RCVS website or pop in for a chat.

We offer work experience to help young people with their career choice. We prefer people to be certain they want to work with animals, be over 16 years of age and you need to get in early! We get booked up about a year in advance for some weeks of the year and we can only take one student at a time.

Looking for a work life balance?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring nurse to join our friendly and close-knit team on a full time basis at our independent Veterinary Practice. Our practice is long-established and highly respected in the local community. Our clients are pleasant, loyal and always do the best for their pets. We have a very popular healthcare plan to help them keep their fur babies in tip-top condition.

The successful applicant will work with 2 very experienced vets, 2 other Nurses (RVN and SVN) a super reception team and our sassy cat Spike. Nurses are very hands on within this busy clinic, with peri-op, theatre and nurse clinic duties keeping you busy throughout your day.

An amazing work life balance is supported. Nurses work a 40 hour week on a flexible rota which includes 1 in 3 Saturday (mornings only) with time off in lieu. Our OOH is taken care of elsewhere at NSVE, which means your bank holidays are free to ENJOY!

The Package and Benefits are Competitive, with a generous salary dependent on experience, 28 days holiday (including bank holidays,) CPD highly supported and encouraged with pension scheme. If needed, a comfortable flat above the surgery can be used in the short term for relocation purposes.

Health Checks

We offer full physical examinations of your pets, whatever the concern. Our vets are highly skilled and experienced, giving you the best advice and care for your pet.

Vaccinations

We have a wide range of vaccinations for your pet. Ranging from their core annual vaccinations, to tailored courses for travel or boarding. We stock a wide range of vaccinations for puppies and kittens to ensure their vaccination course can be completed when arriving with you at their new home.

Consultations

We offer vet consultations 6 days a week, endeavouring to find a time that suits you. We have a broad range of consulting hours including evenings and Saturday mornings ensuring no sick pet is left without care. Same day appointments are available when your pet is in need. Nurse Clinics

Our Registered Veterinary Nurses are here to help you and your pet. Weight clinics, dietaary advice, diabetic clinics, grooming, parasite advice are just a few of the things on offer with our experienced and knowlegable team.

New Puppies & Kittens

We know getting a new pet can be bit of a minefield. With conflicting advice found on the internet, from friends or relatives – were here to help guide you in the right direction. Our vets can help with all elements of care for your new addition, from diet to exercise, behaviour to parasite control, please don’t hesitate to ask.

In-house Laboratory

We have an extensive range of Idexx lab technology that is able to give us immediate results for you and your pets. We are able to process a variety of tests in-house or can send to our specialist external laboratory if requring further detail.

Bloodwork

Our vets and nurses are highly skilled at obtaining stress free blood samples from your pets. We work with each individual animal, using lots of rewards to reduce any fears. Our haematology and biochemistry machines can produce results within hours allowing immediate application of a correct treatment plan.

Ultrasound

Our modern, high calibre machines are an invaluable diagnostic tool for our vets. With the ability to provide answers with minimal sedation or restraint, this non-invasive technology is very useful in providing quick diagnosis.

X-Ray

Using the latest technology, our digital x-ray is able to quickly produce brilliantly clear images, aiding our vets in making a swift diagnosis.

Hospitalisation

Whilst most of the time we can provide treatment to continue at home for your pets, sometimes we need to go that step further. Our hospital facilities allow for constant monitoring and personalised inpatient care, leading to quick intervention and speedy recoveries whenever possible.

Orthopaedics

With many years of experience, our vets are capable of diagnosing and treating many aches and pains. With specialist equipment we are able to treat orthopaedic conditions such as cruciate diease, degenerative joint diseases and fracture stabilisations.

Cardiology

Heart disease can affect a large majority of our canine and feline friends. With our vets having undergone further training and through use of our specialist equipment, we are able to provide swift treatment and slow dieases progression.

Medicine Workups

Through our extensive in-house laboratory, hospital facilities, diagnostic imaging tools and experienced veterinary team, we are able to thoroughly investigate your pets concerns in order to get a diagnosis.

Surgical Procedures

Our surgical theatre is well equipped with all the instrumentation prioritisting your pets care during their operation. Modern muliparameter monitoring and up to date techniques are used to ensure the safety of your pet comes first during their anaesthetic. Our vets are highly skilled and are constantly keeping up to date with all the latest advances in surgery and anaesthesia.

Dentistry

Nearly all cats and dogs suffer from some form of dental diease in their lifetime. Our vets can help with all aspects of dental hygiene, spotting the key clinical signs to instigating swift treatment using our modern dental facilities. As a first opinion veterinary practice, our vets are able to advise if specialist treaments would be beneficial for your pet. We have a close working relationship with all the local referral hospitals ensuring seamless transition and constant communication between us and them, so not a step of your pets care is missed.
